My dad died a year ago today. I'm still so grateful for all the folks who were with me last year when I got that call at work.

Why I start classes with a land acknowledgement
If you’ve been to my classes, you’ve heard me start off with a territorial acknowledgement. It’s nearly the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation here in Canada, which has me reflecting on the importance of honouring the land we occupy.
You should take a functional movement class
Megan teaches restorative classes with a zillion props. Alana teaches ridiculous flips in aerial classes. We both play with high-drama poses in rocket yoga.
These are cool things to do, but at the end of the day, they don’t necessarily help you live a pain-free, efficient life.
Lesson one: doing what you love comes with the unexpected side-effects
An unexpected discovery: moving away from my full-time office job gave me the mental capacity to explore who I am outside of the parameters of my professional identity.
